Connected Pen Scanners
Air · Reader · USB — Online language access uses the internet connection of the paired phone or computer; the pens themselves do not connect directly to Wi-Fi. These pens require an active connection to compatible software to scan, read and hear text. Air and Reader connect using Bluetooth; USB connects by cable. Reader adds accessibility and customization functions.

For compatible Air and Reader pens; USB does not connect to the mobile apps.

For Air, Reader and USB. Open the Web App to obtain the desktop software and use Scan to External.
MAX is a standalone pen with an optional, separate online editor. Pro and PAL do not require an app for independent reading.

Connectivity: MAX, Pro and PAL use Wi-Fi for online language functions and Bluetooth for compatible wireless headphones. MAX can optionally connect to its Web App / Online Editor. Air, Reader and USB use the internet connection of the host device for online languages and must remain connected to compatible software.
App connections: Air and Reader require a compatible app and Bluetooth connection to a phone, tablet or computer; USB requires a wired connection and compatible computer software to scan, read or hear text. MAX: scanning into a computer with its online editor is an optional additional feature. Pro and PAL do not support scanning into an app.
