Select your languages
Open Translate and select both the scanning language (the language of the printed text) and the translation language (the language you want to read or hear).

Scan and listen to the translation
Scan the printed sentence. The translation appears on the screen. When Automatic Reading is enabled in your scanner settings, the translated text is read aloud automatically.

Enable Wi-Fi
Connect to Wi-Fi to use translation languages that require an internet connection.
Offline language warning
If a selected language is not supported offline, connect to Wi-Fi or choose an offline language.
Learning tip: alternate between languages
Switch between the original sentence and its translation. Read or listen to both versions to build understanding, pronunciation and new sentence patterns.
Good to know
By default, the scanner enters Translate when you begin scanning without selecting a function first.
For languages requiring an internet connection, connect the device to Wi-Fi before scanning. Available languages and reading options may vary by model.
