What is Exam LOCK: Secure Assessment Mode
The Scanmarker Max includes a specialized Exam LOCK (or Exam Mode) designed to transition the device from a learning tool into a secure testing accessory.
How it Works (Lock/Unlock): Administrators or teachers can access the settings to lock specific features—such as the Dictionary, Translation, or Photo Scan—using a private password. Once locked, these functions are hidden or inaccessible to the student. To restore full functionality after the test, the administrator simply enters the password to unlock the features.
Why it Prevents Distraction: By restricting the device to only the Read / Text-to-Speech function, students stay focused purely on decoding the exam questions. This removes the temptation to browse definitions or translate text, ensuring the device is used strictly as an accessibility aid rather than a shortcut to the answers.
Ensures Integrity: It allows schools to provide necessary reading support to students with dyslexia or learning differences while strictly adhering to academic integrity and "no-aid" testing policies.
